Roca Negra – Marta Hernández

Graphics, lettering and editorial publication for Roca Negra, together with the collective Contrafotografia. It is a collective captivated with making accessible and open publications according to the current time. The project is based on a self-managed contracultural magazine that is committed to disseminating essays, articles, interviews, and other types of texts that are considered agitating and stimulating. Above all, we want it to be a space that reflects the opinions and interests of a dissatisfied generation with a lot to express but few spaces to do so.

From a design perspective, our graphic references were mostly Italian anarchist magazines from the 70s, with a very austere but aggressive design, a lot of geometry, and visually very powerful. The main challenge was to give maximum importance to the texts, the main protagonists, and to go with an unconventional format within the fanzine world, the newspaper format.
