Mañanitas: desayunos y rituales is the first self-managed editorial project of Soul in the Kitchen (Claudia) and Blasina Rocher. Claudia is a chef and already has a large community around food, environment, and music. On another hand, Blasina is an illustrator where women, colour and self-care are her biggest inspiration.
The kitchen is fun, it's failure and success, it’s getting dirty, improvising sometimes and much more! Mañanitas: desayunos y rituales is a manual to enjoy breakfasts, an archive of recipes of all kinds and we wanted to portray how versatile and playful the breakfast can be.
For this project, we were clear about having a good time with the creation, and we did! For this reason, we decided that each section would be completely different. There are certain rigid elements that are repeated throughout the publication so that it has continuity, but always with some creative freedom. The game of typography and colour was essential to develop the project to capture that fun and spontaneity that we were looking for. In the end, this book is an ode to breakfast and self-care.
